Xhosa rap artist Bhut Legend has opened up about the deep impact that the late Bravo Le Roux had on his life and music career, revealing that he misses the fallen rap star every day.

Speaking about his relationship with Bravo Le Roux, Bhut'Legend described the Khayelitsha-born rapper as more than just a collaborator, he was someone he looked up to and admired long before they shared records together.

"I was literally bro's number one hype man," said Bhut'Legend, reflecting on the bond they built through music and friendship.

The tribute comes months after the passing of Bravo Le Roux, whose death sent shockwaves throughout South Africa's hip-hop community. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern isiXhosa rap, Bravo Le Roux built a legacy through his authentic storytelling, cultural pride and commitment to putting Cape Town's townships on the map.

The two artists shared a strong musical connection over the years, collaborating on tracks including "Grootman", "Tilili" and "Hlale Ndiphanda", helping to strengthen the presence of Xhosa rap within the local music landscape.

BhutLegend recently continued to honour his late friend through music, releasing "Imali", a collaboration featuring Bravo Le Roux and iFani. The artist previously shared that the song carried significant emotional weight, admitting that he initially struggled with releasing it following Bravo's passing because of how much the record meant to his brother and collaborator.

Bravo Le Roux's influence continues to be felt across the country, with fans, fellow artists and industry figures still celebrating the impact he made through his music and community work. From Khayelitsha to stages across South Africa, his voice remains an important part of the culture.

For BhutLegend, the loss is personal.

While the music lives on, so do the memories of a friendship built on mutual respect, brotherhood and a shared love for Xhosa rap.

"I miss my boy every single day" says BhutLegend.

And for many fans, the feeling is mutual.
